Donate a Car

Through our partnership with Volunteers of America's (VOA) Charity Connections project, you can donate your vehicle and 100 percent of any proceeds will go back to United Way of the Columbia-Willamette.

Start the donation process online now or call 1.877.VOA.3977. Please be sure to mention that you would like your donation to benefit United Way of the Columbia-Willamette.

Why should I donate my vehicle to Volunteers of America Oregon?

  • You may receive greater value for your vehicle as a charitable contribution on your itemized tax return
  • You'll be spared the ordeal of trying to sell your vehicle
  • VOA offers free towing or a $30 McMenamins gift card if you deliver the vehicle to their storage facility
  • The funds from the sale of your vehicle will be invested in breaking the cycle of childhood poverty in our four-county region

Does my car have to be running to donate it?

Nope! VOA accepts both running and non-running vehicles. (Some restrictions may apply to oversized vehicles and tow range.)

What types of vehicles are accepted?

Cars, trucks, boats, motor homes, travel trailers, utility trailers, aircraft and others.

Will you come pick up my vehicle? What is your tow range?

VOA offers free towing, or a $30 McMenamins gift card if you drop off your vehicle at our storage facility. (Call 1-877-VOA-3977 for details.) Their tow range is from Longview, WA to Cottage Grove, OR and a 50-mile radius of I-5, but they'll go anywhere for the right vehicle.

What if I have an out-of-state title?

No problem -- VOA can process a donation with an out-of-state title, and they can accept vehicles from almost any state.

I've heard that some for-profit companies are disguising themselves behind nonprofit-sounding names. How can I be sure that I'm donating my car to a legitimate charity?

We've partnered with Charity Connections, a project of Volunteers of America Oregon, which is one of the oldest nonprofits in Oregon, helping those in need since 1896. By using VOA to process your donation, even their handling fee is put to work helping people in our community.
