Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

United Way of the Columbia-Willamette is a proud new partner of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library! Dolly Parton launched the Imagination Library in 1995 to foster an early love of reading and learning in her hometown of Sevier County, Tenn. The Imagination Library has since become the highest quality, most recognizable and most effective book gifting resource in the world. Policy makers, funders, early childhood organizations and families trust The Imagination Library to inspire a love of reading among children of all ages. And now children in our area have access to this program! Interested in checking if your family is eligible for free, high-quality books? Click the button below to see!

$30 covers a year of books for a child in our area, so consider making a monthly donation to help more than one family find their love of reading. $150 will cover books for a child for the entirety of the program, from years 0 to 5! Your contributions — no matter how big or small — make an impact.

By supporting our work with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, you help us create a more holistic early education ecosystem. Our work through Early Learning Multnomah and Washington counties means we have deep relationships built with early childhood educators, families and organizations serving the people the Imagination Library can help already. Through this new initiative, we will leverage the impact we're already making to ensure thousands of families are able to access more books, learning opportunities and tools to help their children thrive.
